School's in Session

Holy Cow! We are finally in our new building and seven days into the new school year. Things have been so busy and so crazy, but in the end, all will be great. I will post pics soon showing off our new building and my classroom. There's so much new stuff going on that it's all a little overwhelming. I can't imagine trying to be a parent too and keeping up with all that my kids would be doing. It is nice though only having one group to teach and be responsible for. It's a big change, considering I taught Kindergarten half day for 7 years. It's nice now to be able to pace what I'm teaching instead of feeling like I have to rush through everything in 2 and a half hours. I look forward to the time when things begin to slow down. But, I am thankful for what this opportunity will provide.

Team Six Pack

This past April, we ran in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. This was one of the greatest experiences of my life. So many people participated and so many people came out to cheer us on. It was amazing to hear the stories where people came from and how this all affected their lives. This was tough to train for in just 4 months, but I'm so glad we did this and can't wait to do it again.

Summer Time

So, today is the first day of my blog. Not a whole lot to talk about, but summer is here, so that seems like a safe place to start. I've been off from school for almost a month now, and it feels like it's flown by. I haven't had an actual summer break in 15 years, so it's unusual for me to not be working. Didn't sign up for summer school this time, because we're moving into our new building in July, and it didn't seem like it would be the smart thing to do to work and move and try to fit time in for myself somewhere. We are going on vacation this weekend, which I'm looking forward to. We're headed to Tunica and Nashville. Hopefully, we're not flooded out. Either way, we get to get out of town. Anyway, hopefully when we get back, more fishing can take place. I look forward to the summers just to be outside. Thanks be to God.
